Winner Portrait of Britain Award, 2025
A photographic series documenting Pedro Youth Club, one of the oldest functioning youth clubs in London. Founded in 1929, the club was reopened in 2003 by James Cook, a local resident and former British Super-Middleweight Champion. The project documents the club’s day to day, including boxing classes for kids and adults and activities for the elderly, documenting the dedication of its volunteers and the tightly knitted community that makes ‘Pedro’ a space of belonging and resistance.
